I have a to-do list before I go to fight Ganon.
The only dragon I've ever shot before was Naydra and that was a bit of a gimme, since it was sitting right there waiting for me to plink an arrow into its side. I've seen Farosh and Dinraal plenty of times, but I've never managed to hit them. But Farosh tends to go pretty low around Lake Floria, so the plan was to swim up a waterfall and loiter until I saw a dragon, picking bananas and durians as I went (for objective 4). The first step was pretty easy - I teleported to Shoda Sah shrine, changed into my Zora gear, and swam up the waterfall, then launched myself off the side to land near where I knew I had seen Farosh before, to wait. Just one problem: I landed next to a blue-maned lynel.
My first reaction was to photograph it, because I've never seen a blue lynel before, only red and white! And I got a great picture! Then I started screaming because a blue-maned lynel was trying to kill me. But Farosh's offering is to the Spring of Courage. How can I claim myself courageous if I run from every lynel I see? So I stood my ground, and we fought.
No, that's a lie. I kited that fucker in circles while shooting him full of bomb arrows. I'm not standing in front of a charging lynel, are you nuts? But I did kill him, and that's what matters. By the time I had won, it was dusk. I heard the soundtrack change a second before my Sheikah sensor started going off, and gusts of wind picked up. I threw myself into the air, floating above Farosh. I actually had to fall down fairly close before I could successfully shoot an arrow into its side. Then I landed, picked up its scale, and teleported back up to the Dueling Peaks so I could drop down on the Spring of Courage without fighting my way through 1 billion electric keese like the first time.
Then next, Dinraal. I'd seen it in the Tanagar Canyon before, so my plan was to go to the Snowfield Stable and catch it at the beginning of its path. Except it was waaaay too high, and I couldn't shoot that far. But beneath me, according to the map, was the Forgotten Temple. Which sounded very interesting, so I climbed down to see what that was all about.
Perhaps, in retrospect, the sheer number of stalmoblins should've been a warning. But they go down in two hits, so I wasn't worried. Even if they all had dragonbone clubs and knight's bows - well, that's just what they're like after four Beasts and seventy shrines. And then I got into the temple, and I saw all the guardians. And then one of them started moving. And then three of them did. But I wanted to see what was in the temple. And I needed more ancient materials. And I had a really durable Ancient Battleaxe++! So what could possibly go wrong? Into the fray!
There are a lot of Guardians in there. But they're all decayed, so a single attack rotation with a Great Flameblade or a Battleaxe++ is enough to take them down without giving them time to rotate and retaliate. The trick, I found, was to hide on the outside of the room, using one guardian I was in melee with as cover against the other two or three also trying to laser me, since guardians are immune to guardian lasers. Then as soon as it went down, sprint like a madman to the next. Additionally, the air vents let me do some aerial dodging and slam attacks. That, plus a couple Hearty foods and Daruk's protection, saw me by the skin of my teeth to Rona Kachta's Blessing where I got... a Flamespear?
I mean, I feel really ready to take on whatever Hyrule Castle throws at me now, so it was a good experience, but seriously? I was expecting a bit more from the Guardian Gauntlet in there.
So I teleported back up and tried Serenne Stable instead. I had to wait around all night. But success! Dinraal returned, swooping down below right south of Serenne Stable, which made it a perfect target. One shot directly to the back, and I'm off to the Spring of Power - after a quick jaunt southeast to pick up memory #6. I think it's probably the happiest I've ever seen Zelda, and she's trying to shove a whole Hot-Footed Frog into Link's mouth. Like, I've drunk a good few of them now, but I can understand why I was a bit put off back 100 years ago. Maybe I should bring some frogs and Silent Princess into the castle too? For old times' sake? Spring of Power is easy - caught a horse outside of East Akkala, ran to the edge of the pit, and threw myself off the edge, then dropped a scale and picked up a flashback. The last one, according to Pikango in Lurelin, is in the castle cloisters. So I'm going to call it complete there.
And then, just for completion, I went to photograph Naydra, since I'd not remembered to do so when I encountered it for the first time upon Mt. Lanayru (which I realize I didn't blog about this time, since I did it in my previous playthrough with much more nonsense - like, immediately post-Ruta through the eastern gate and facetanking a lynel, with ten arrows, one doublet, no sledgehammer or fire weapons, and an inadequate amount of spicy peppers. That was exciting. This time I just downed some extra-spicy summerwing elixir and headed to the top from Afromsia Coast after getting the Climbing Pants, all as a planned excursion before I went to Death Mountain. It's amazing what a little foresight can do.).

Hey old friend. Glad you're feeling better.
To-do list status:
- Make offerings to all the Springs, in preparation for the dangerous battle ahead of me
- Reclaim all my memories so I will have a full understanding of the stakes
- Reforge all of the Champion weapons that I have used until they break, so that when we defeat Ganon, it shall be together
- Prepare adequate supplies in the form of: 10 each Hearty (+5), Mighty (+3), and Tough (+3) foods or elixirs, 5 Enduring foods/elixirs, 90 Arrows, and 30 of each elemental arrow including Ancient Arrows, so I will not be stopped for want of resources.
- Obtain at least one item with Guardian Protection, so I can withstand the force of their eye beams.
- Upgrade at least piece of armor to Tier 4, so I can withstand everything else.
