Breath of the Wild: This Lizard's on Fire

I'm starting to get into content I haven't done before - Death Mountain and Vah Rudania!

The beginning of the ascent of Death Mountain was the last thing I did before accidentally wiping my save. This time, I knew what to expect, and I have duly supplemented my collection of pocket crabs with a truly absurd number of pocket lizards.

I knew I wanted to have a full set of 2x upgraded fire resistance armor before fighting Vah Rudania, so I spent a good hour hunting down every fireproof lizard in sight all over Death Mountain. My lizard hunt, in fact, led me to two places I have now explored for the first time - the adjacent shrines of Gorae Torr (Gut Check) and Zuna Kai (Skull Lake)!

A max-hasty food saw to the easy completion of the Gut Check Challenge with 121 rupees in tow, and from atop Gorae Torr, it is trivial to paraglide to the tall eye of Skull Lake for Zuna Kai. Double the blessings, double the power! And then, below Zuna Kai, for the very first time.... I met Kilton. And gaaaaah. What is up with that guy?

I don't think I like the idea of him following me around across the villages of Hyrule.

And last but not least, I ascended Death Mountain with Yunobo in tow! The flying guardian things were a paaaaain to take out. A couple times, I had to resort to flinging myself into the lava to get more magnetic bricks, which I don't think is an optimal strategy but did work? And then the last one was so irritating I simply ran Yunobo and myself past it. But we escaped, and then... that was it. Vah Rudania lay before me. IDK, I expected more of a battle somehow? But this was already difficult enough, so I can see how the ascent was a boss battle all its own.

So I paraglided down to land upon Vah Rudania... and the world went dark. Oh no. I'm not going to like this beast, am I?

!!! Kilton!!!! I don't remember those shrines, if I did them.

And you know, thinking of the ascent... I think I did a lot of sneaking/running rather than block-dropping. But yeah, I don't remember. Except that it was definitely a Venture.

They're both just Blessing shrines - there's no puzzle within, which might be why you don't remember doing them.
