I circled around and headed back to the Highlands stable today, and promptly spent the better part of an hour trying to beat the horse obstacle race (the horse course? obstacle horse?). I must have lost twenty times before I finally beat the time. Inquisition's horse race can suck it. This was WAY harder.
It was all worth it of course, because I got a ~saddle~. In games like this, I find I will do much for a cool outfit. My Elder Scrolls Online experience is much the same - I think I've spent more on houses and cosmetics than actual things to improve my gameplay.
I did make it to the Horse Reviving Place - unsurprisingly, past the Horse God Lake. And gaaaaah that horse god. If I can ever figure out how to get pics off this switch, that's the first thing I'm posting. What the FUCK.
From there, I proceeded into Faron and found, after much wobbling around - thunderstorms! I then proceeded to spend much of the next two hours being electrocuted by chuchus, lizalfos with arrows, and wizzrobes. Me and my four hearts are perhaps not entirely equipped to be in this place. But it would all be worth it, I thought, if I could only get to the shrine --
It's the Spring of Courage. I need a dragon scale. Which I do not have.
Progressing east, near the lake of 1 billion waterfalls, my Sheikah Sensor then detected a different shrine. I spent another hour climbing all around the butte to the south searching for a shrine, to no avail. Eventually, I gave up and headed east. I made it to Lurelin Village, a very Polynesian-looking place with so many crabs. Crabs for days. Crabs for weeks. All of my pockets are filled with crabs. So at least there's something to show for my woes. But that missing shrine is going to haunt my DREAMS.
