"fuck it, this is done"

I've never really thought of myself as a fic writer. I don't find writing super easy, generally, or relaxing in the same way that doing a sketch is. But in fic as in all types of creation, there's a point where you just have to say "this is as good as I am going to make it". Any tweaking is just going to modify things in a horizontal direction at best. Stop poking it. Just say fuck it. This is done.

Anyways on that note - I wrote a fic! Part of a fic. One chapter, which is a reasonable amount of fic. Second chapter's half-done, so I feel like I'm making progress. It's about Zevran. And Rinna. Also Taliesen, and the Warden, but it's mostly about Zevran, and the nagging thought that I could really do something with Rinna, a canonically elven woman, being a sincere contender for the Antivan throne.

Hear, hear! ...and you can always tweak later, even after it's posted. ;)

I wasn't really that big a fan of how convoluted Zevran's backstory got, tbh. Rinna's was interesting, though I don't think it ever really elevated her out of the fridge. So I am eager to see what you do in terms of fleshing her out, even if in Zev's memories.

XD I had to do a last-minute edit when posting when I forgot the summary so I'm with you there on post-posting tweaks.

I'm writing around all the extra overcomplication I don't like while trying to see how much of it I can shove in, basically. Like Zev and co. apparently at least being involved in the deaths of like 17 people between them before the age of 20? Plot point, albeit one I don't see myself getting to in this fic. Zev's potential-dad being randomly assassinated? An overcomplication that adds nothing to the story, but one I can ignore since.... it adds nothing to the story.

The next chapter is going to have some more Rinna, so I really hope you like her! I think the first step in elevating her out of the fridge is bringing her to life in the first place.
